If you have made a CPF nomination
Civil Law implication:
Upon your demise, if you have made a valid CPF nomination, your CPF nominees will have absolute entitlement over your CPF monies based on the share stated in your nomination form.
Syariah implication:
Previously, CPF nominees are regarded as trustees for the estate of the deceased. They have no right over the CPF monies and must distribute the CPF monies to the deceased’s faraidh beneficiaries. However, with the fatwa on CPF nominations released by MUIS on 23 September 2010, CPF nominees are now regarded as the absolute beneficiaries of the CPF monies, similar to the civil law treatment.
